Role Summary/Purpose
This role requires someone with proven experience in a wide range of enterprise infrastructure technologies. Also serve as technical expert responsible for the design and implementation of IT technology solutions, define and administer standards for infrastructure architecture. This role also expects to do IT technology research, propose required changes, and develops and derives implementation plans.
Essential Responsibilities
Cluster solutions, virtualization architecture, Web and application server architecture
Define strategies and technology roadmaps and ensure that it is aligned with the corporate business strategy
Provide best practices and utilizes approved technology standards to design solution
Automate cluster design solution for business applications and find alternative ways to minimize downtime for DR failovers
Work with Application leaders, Project managers to understand application architecture, criticality matrix and all dependent components contributing to overall solution design
Advises management on technology purchases and on future projects or environment to drive infrastructure availability objectives
Test and validate any new concept in a Lab environment before implementing or suggesting a solutions to the stake holders
Work effectively across various technical teams, document processes and train team members within an onsite/offsite resource model
Apply Six Sigma/ITIL methodology to all aspects of the architecture solution for infrastructure and applications
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor Degree in Information Technology/Computer Science (or a minimum 4 years of focused experience in an infrastructure discipline)
Minimum 10 years of industry experience with an emphasis on information technology solution architecture
Minimum 5 years of experience working with Veritas HA and replication solutions
Minimum 6 years of experience working a Senior UNIX Administrator primarily on Solaris and Linux Operating systems
Minimum 5 years of experience to design and configure Web and App Servers load balancing solution and creation and design of Web/App Server farms
Desired Characteristics
Knowledge of EMC SAN/NAS storage, replication standards and best practices
Knowledge of Archiving and Backup solutions as per Compliance requirements
Knowledge of Oracle and/or SQLServer RDBMS
Strong team player – collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources
The role demands a high level of technical leadership, strong external focus and excellent communication skills to translate technology into business value
Technical acumen - ability to learn technologies outside current areas of expertise.
Ability to work across multiple projects simultaneously
Drive to learn new technology and build in-depth expertise
