If you are a Senior Platform / Infrastructure Engineer, Linux Systems Administrator, or DevOps Engineer with solid experience working on high-traffic sites (ecommerce preferable), please read on. Start-up backed by two of the most respected VCs in Silicon Valley seeks a Senior Infrastructure Engineer with previous experience working on high-traffic sites to join their brand new Platform/Infrastructure team. Based in beautiful Palo Alto, this company is already poised to be one of the hottest start-up companies in 2012. They have been around since 2007, but chose to outsource all things tech-related while they focused on their core apparel business. They have received a huge infusion of capital to bring everything technology in-house and re-platform, focusing on scalability, availability, reliability, and redundancy. They are in the midst of building a team from scratch and you would be the first infrastructure person on the team.

What you need for this position:

- Strong platform / infrastructure or DevOps experience
- Linux systems engineering/ administration experience
- Experience within an ecommerce environment a plus
- Experience with Software-as-An-Infrastructure a plus
- Cloud platforms experience preferred
- Systems engineering pro that can enable a rapid pace of feature innovation while striking the right balance with quality, as measure in terms of performance, availability, scalability and security
- Ideal candidates will have experience with continuous deployment
- Knowledge/experience with NoSQL solutions

What you'll be doing - You will:

- Redefine the online apparel eCommerce space
- Deliver capabilities to the product teams to help ensure availability, scalability, performance and security
- Perform technology evaluations and testing to introduce new technologies to be adopted by the wider team, e.g. what NoSQL solution should we use?
- Deliver tools and framework to accelerate development and improve team agility, e.g. automation framework, and tools that accelerate deployment and rollback to cloud environments
- Uptime is going to be the team's #1 focus, so you will be focused on building a system with availability, scalability, performance, and security in mind
- You will be involved in helping hire and lead additional member of the team as we scale out the team
