Senior SharePoint Administrator, Location: London, Salary £45000.00
Job Summary:
The Senior SharePoint administrator is a challenging position within IT Services that offers exposure to many functions and the opportunity to participate in shaping the future of company IT systems. You will be a technical expert accountable and responsible for supporting and maintaining Microsoft SharePoint availability.
You will perform systems operations across complex hosted shared SharePoint environments and provide consultation to other teams including, but not limited to, architecture, development, and project management. Day to day work will include troubleshooting issues, deployment of applications on the SharePoint platform, documentation, and consultation to other teams.
Essential Functions of the Job:
Operational 3rd Level Support - Incident troubleshooting, analysis and resolution beyond 1st, 2nd level, consultant to other IT functions in terms of using production SharePoint environment,
Infrastructure Integration - integrate new services based on system designs, participate in automation, consolidation, centralization projects
Analyze and configure existing SharePoint environments
Build new SharePoint environments or build expansion of existing SharePoint environments
Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:
Ability to act very independently
Flexible to multiple demands with the ability to shift priorities.
Ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and provide solutions to complex issues within an enterprise environment.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
Extensive Microsoft SharePoint 2010 platform administration experience including; installation, troubleshooting and all aspects of site collection administration
Advanced experience in Windows 2003/2008 Network OS
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
While this job does not involve direct networking administration, it does require a good understanding of how Firewalls, Load Balancers and other enterprise network technologies work.
English language skills - excellent written and verbal
Understanding of http/s, SSL, Microsoft IIS6.0/7.0 configuration, networking protocol
Understanding of LDAP and Microsoft Active Directory
Performance monitoring and capacity analysis
Understanding of relational databases, specifically MS SQL Server to create basic queries
Other Requirements:
On call rotation, flexible work hours (nights/weekends) are required due to the fact that work is distributed to colleagues around the world. Working in a global IT organization cultural differences and working with team members in other countries are evidently. Creating and maintaining documentation for supported environments as well as following proofed ITIL processes.
Due to the international character of the role some limited travel might be required.
