This position plays a pivotal role in the delivery of effective and efficient client services for a leading provider of audiovisual and video conferencing solutions and services in Australia. Our Clients are Federal (including Defence and Secure Agencies), State Governments and major corporate enterprises. Part of our business involves the design and implementation of integrated audiovisual systems that enable and enhance our clients’ communication. Our Client is also renowned for providing project installations, programming, maintenance and support of sophisticated integration projects as well as dealing extensively with architects, trades and builders on their AV and VC fit-out projects.
We are seeking a Senior AV/VC Installation Technician to join our ACT team working out of our office in Canberra. Our team have a keen interest in the AV/VC industry and the Senior Installer is expected to be a professional self-starter with a positive attitude when working with our clients in ACT. As a Senior Installer you will need to have:
- Demonstrated experience in conduit and cable installations, and cable termination
- Current cabling licence, ideally in AV/VC
- Current manual driver’s licence
- Ability to work effectively in a team based work environment with good communication skills when dealing with clients
- Ability to interpret technical drawings
Of considerable advantage but not essential is a background or qualification from the electrical industry, or a relevant trade certificate in Telecommunications, Electronics, Audio-Visual or Multi Media.
- Australian citizenship is essential as the applicant will be required to have an ability to gain a Defence/Federal Government Security clearance.
Essential:
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills with an ability to build effective relationships with co-workers and clients, including:
-Successfully work under pressure in a complex and competitive business environment.
-Quickly adapt to the changing needs of our clients, and work with other teams to ensure those needs are met. - Sound technical skills with a background in audio visual installations including:
-the installation, configuration and use of high quality Audio Visual and Video Conferencing equipment and systems; and,
-ability to understand and interpret correctly any technical drawings and plans. - Strong work ethic and demonstrated ability to commit to the Corporate Values of our client.
Highly Desirable:
- Experience in the audio and videoconferencing industry would be a considerable advantage
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
- Relevant trade certificate in Telecommunications, Electronics, Audio-Visual or
- Multi Media would be a considerable advantage.
- Established relationships with Industry Skills Councils, relevant industry bodies or associations within specialisation would be an advantage
Essential Qualifications:
- ACA Cabling license
- Working at Heights certificate
- Elevated Work Platform certificate
- Manual Handling Certification
- Construction/Induction (White) Card.
