Job description:

This role sits within Edison’s institutional equities business. Established in 2009, the team takes a growing suite of dedicated research to a client base of around 50 fund management firms. The emphasis is on actionable, differentiated ideas, rather than broad-based maintenance coverage.

 The role offers the candidate the opportunity to work closely with our analysts across multi-disciplined sectors to identify investment ideas and companies to meet. Utilising your already well established networks and relationships Managing the institutional sector you should expect to have a large degree of autonomy, working within the team to develop their own ideas, taking them from initial concept to marketable research notes.

Candidate profile:

We are looking for people who will have a background as follows:

• Equity sales professionals with previous UK broking experience.

• Strong relationships with traditional long only and hedge funds investing in the UK small and mid cap space.

• Able to generate a daily that captures new alpha generating ideas from company meetings we have conducted and the research the analyst teams are producing

 • Proven stock ideas generator with a strong understanding of financials and valuation

 • Ability to work with the analyst teams, filtering their best ideas for your clients and be able to pass back feedback from fund managers to the analyst teams in a constructive manner.

• You will have acquired solid relationships and networks across the UK institutions.

• Be able to develop new revenue generating accounts for Edison.

• You will possess excellent communication skills and confidently engage with all levels of people.

• You will have high energy levels and can be a persuasive negotiator.

• Highly presentable, articulate and proactive.

• Knowledgeable in the use of Bloomberg, Thomspon and Microsoft Office.
