Essential Job Duties:
- Support and implement new and existing integration with various hospital systems; ensuring optimal system performance in accordance with information systems methods and practices.
- Serves as a technical resource for OPENLink and any other interface engine UHS may be utilizing.
- Prepare training materials for other team members and users.
- Conduct needs analysis – work with customers and the organization to develop interfaces that improve processes.
- Ensures that appropriate written documentation is created and maintained to keep systems operational in the absence of originator.
- May serve as project leader on some projects where needed.
- Ensures adherence to all IS management initiatives, project teams, committees, and task forces.
- Participate in employment interviewing process for IS colleagues.
- May provide technical guidance to other IS Interface colleagues or IS personnel.
- May have contact with facility executive management regarding requirements and issues.
- Regular contact with Corporate IS technical personnel, Customer Support Center, Hospital IS, and Corporate financial and/or clinical managers regarding interface/integration implementation and support issues.
- Contact with primary and secondary vendor technical personnel regarding application capabilities and tasks regarding implementation, enhancement and support.
- Development and support of new interfaces
- Validation and Testing of interfaces.
- Be able to prioritize and support any development issues with minimal assistance
- Strong troubleshooting skills are essential – and ability to do analysis on recurring issues to prevent another issue.
- Support customers and keep interfaces up and running smoothly.
- Mentor and support Interface Colleagues sharing knowledge and skills.
- Associate's Degree or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Minimum 1-3 years of related experience required; 3-5 preferred.
- Technical or project leadership regarding OPENLink performance.
- Must have strong knowledge of the OPENLink toolkit or other SDK’s.
- Must have strong knowledge of the Invision Interface profiles.
- Have a good working knowledge of protocols such as TCP/IP, FTP, and SNA.
- Have a strong working knowledge of HL7 event types.
- Have a good working knowledge of different transaction formats such as HL7, fixed format, and delimited and XML.
- Have good working knowledge of OBF and be able to troubleshoot related issues in Invision such as RTRANFILE and Batching Menu.
- Anticipate impact of actions on system performance and devise solutions.
- Investigate and resolve recurring help desk issues.
- Participate in off hours on-call coverage and support
- Good organizational abilities, oral communications and interpersonal skills are a must. Ability to operate and communicate effectively while under pressure is essential.
- Essential to have good technical writing skills and willingness to adequately document all work performed.
- Be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and with minimal supervision.
- Cerner knowledge a plus.
- 20% domestic US travel.
