Business Unit Overview:
The European Corporate Investment Team is responsible for managing Blackrock’s Corporate Credit Lead Portfolio. The team liaises closely with credit analysts to provide sector, capital structure and stock selection recommendations for Blackrock’s fundamental fixed income funds, and is responsible for generating credit alpha across the platform. The team trades corporate bonds for a wide variety of actively managed funds including retail, institutional and hedge fund portfolios.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reporting to Head of European Corporate Bonds
- Become a member of the Corporate Investment Team and play a leading role in determining the strategy in non-financial credits for the Corporate Credit Lead Portfolio
- Working with fundamental credit analysts to identify investment opportunities and to manage risk in the portfolio
- Generate alpha trade ideas and monitoring market developments
- Undertake security-level analysis and make trading decisions
- Trade securities across client portfolios and act as a face to the street
- Contribute to the investment platform, express a clear investment view on the non-financial sector and explain the positioning of the Lead Portfolio to other investment professionals within the firm

Skills and Qualifications:
- Fixed Income credit background in either a sell or buy side firm in investment banking, trading, portfolio management, strategy or research
- A strong understanding about credit fundamentals and deep understanding about the European non-financial sector
- Strong portfolio management skills with a proven track record
- Credit trading experience and a decent understanding about bond technical and market dynamics
- Strong communication skills and the ability to discuss and market trade ideas
- Successful experience working both independently and as part of a team in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Risk taking aptitude, the ability to work effectively under pressure and a genuine passion for investing
