nabInvest (trading as Antares Fixed Income) is one of Australia's largest fixed income managers, with assets under management of around $17 billion.
Redpoint is a start-up Global equity manager, partially owned by NAB.
This position is in the Investment Operations team within MLC's Asset Management business and provides middle office support to both nabInvest's and Redpoint's investment teams and future investment initiatives within nabInvest and MLC.
As a senior member of the team your key responsibilities include:-
- Monitoring of nostro balances and preparation of cash forecasts.
- Matching of trade confirmations across a wide range of instruments (Australian and Global Equities and Fixed Income, both OTC and Exchange Traded Derivatives) with brokers and counterparties.
- Communication of trade instructions and corporate actions to custodians and clearers.
- Investigation and reporting of operational issues.
- Maintaining trade execution platforms, settlement and confirmation systems
- Respond to ad-hoc queries from portfolio managers, custodians, brokers and MLC/NAB business units.
This role has extensive scope for project work with focus on process improvements and system enhancements to support the existing equities and fixed income businesses as well as new business initiatives which require support.
To successfully secure this role you will have 4 - 6 years experience in similar roles in the Funds Management industry and possess a relevant accounting/finance degree and an industry post graduate qualification would be highly desirable. You will be able to demonstrate a genuine interest in financial markets, and an excellent knowledge of financial instruments and the operational requirements to support them. Additionally an ability to articulate your findings, and effectively work with colleagues to develop processes and solutions, will complement your already established analytical expertise.
