Senior Investment Process Professional
The CIO Office is a fundamental and integral part of Swiss Re's investment process, from the long term investment strategy to the actual implementation of the investment mandate. It is responsible for supporting the strategic assessment of the global investment landscape, designing and execution of derivative overlay strategies and optimizing the investment framework which Swiss Re's Business Units - Reinsurance, Corporate Solutions and Admin Re - are operating in. Furthermore it sets the investment mandates for individual portfolios managed both internally or by external asset managers.
The opportunity
The Investment Process Unit within CIO Office is responsible for the operational aspects of the ALM driven investment process. Through adequate and efficient rollout and maintenance of the replicating portfolios and commercial benchmarks of the investment mandates the unit plays a key role in the implementation of Swiss Re strategic asset allocation (SAA).
As a successful candidate for the role, you will need a solid understanding of financial markets instruments and ideally also of insurance replicating instruments.
We are seeking an analytically minded individual that is driven to constantly review and improve existing processes, and is able to successfully coordinate and implement in a large organization.
Roll-out of the SAA and ALM strategy through definition and implementation of investment benchmarks
Maintenance of the investment benchmark to ensure a smooth investment process
Coordination and 'point of contact' across a broad range internal units involved in the investment process such as Portfolio Managers, Treasury, Portfolio Steering, Asset Allocation, Risk Management and IT.
Identifies and drives changes in the investment process due to changes in business needs or to further improve existing processes
Effectively leverages IT for the investment process, including specification of quantitative and analytical requirements
About you
Masters degree with strong quantitative component
4-8 years professional experience in asset management, insurance industry or consultancy firm
Solid knowledge and experience with financial markets instruments, investment benchmarks and insurance replicating instruments
Programming skills are a plus: SQL, VBA, Matlab
Strong analytical skills
Strong communication skills
Identify ways for and drive forward improvements of the investment process
Ability to work systematically in a fast moving environment
Self-starter and able to work independently
Ability in and enthusiasm for working in an international environment
Strong team player
