Job Description
Responsible for assisting partners in devising hardware and software solutions using personal computers (PC), data communications equipment, terminals, electronic office equipment and desktop tools. Analyzes systems’ needs, handles problem resolution, provides quality assurance reviews and trains partners on use of various tools. Provides technical support to all Asia offices. Performs Project Manager responsibilities as needed andkeeps abreast of new technology.
Major Duties
- Advises and assists partners in devising hardware and software solutions using PC’s, data communications equipment, terminals electronic office products and desktop tools by telephone or in individual and/or group settings.
- Studies and analyzes systems needs, trains partners on use of software and hardware and acts as a consultant.
- Researches and resolves PC hardware and software and/or mainframe software problems. Investigates telecommunication issues as needed. Provides on-going documentation of problems and solutions.
- Provides leadership to projects as needed; performs time estimates and regularly reviews status of projects.
- Keeps abreast of new technology and of the partner business needs; makes recommendations for new hardware or software purchases.
- Acts as a technical consultant by analyzing technology needs for a sales presentation.
- Assists in the selection and installation of new hardware or software, including PC, electronic office or desktop tools.
- Evaluates new and existing software products and makes recommendations for purchase.
- Implement, administer and maintain Microsoft 2003/8 servers for Asia offices.
- Manage VMware
- Provide systems/network infrastructure support and network security management for the Asia Offices.
- Perform network/systems performance monitoring and capacity planning.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of the network/systems infrastructure.
- Perform desktops/laptops/servers and network devices installation, upgrade maintenance and configuration.
- Assist IT Manager to plan, maintain and execute all backup/recovery strategies for all critical systems.
- Maintain, procure and keep records of all IT/IS assets.
- Work with vendors and evaluate their proposal
- Perform daily duties including close of business operations.
We require
- A bachelor’s degree or its equivalent.
- Minimum 10-12 years’ of technical experience with IT infrastructure, system applications and PC, office and desktop tools.
- ITIL, MCSE, MCSA and CCNA certification a plus.
- Working knowledge of Remedy Action Request System tool a plus.
- Willingness to work alternate hours/schedule.
