Senior IT Project Manager — Development Platform Services and Components Job in Eden Prairie, Minnesota US

We have an excellent opportunity in OptumInsight for an experienced project manager that's passionate about seeing projects executed successfully. The Senior IT Project Consultant coordinates efforts between teams that provide software and services and the numerous teams that consume those components and services. The successful candidate will be largely self-directed and have a passion for process, an affinity for details, a mastery of communication, and the leadership to keep everyone focused on our common goals.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with development and quality management to ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, in scope, with high quality
- Advise teams on best practices for scope definition, identifying risks, project methodologies, resource allocation, and other project management techniques
- Work with teams to mitigate issues related to achieving project goals
- Ensure teams adhere to defined software development lifecycle
- Track projects in project management system
- Coordinate resources and schedules across teams
- Communicate overall project status with leadership
- Help management understand affects of project changes
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of project management experience
- 4+ years experience in planning and tracking projects
- Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Excel and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely
- Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple priorities
- Basic understanding of software development lifecycle
- BA/BS degree in related field or equivalent education and experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of scrum methodology and tools
- Planview Portfolio Management Software
- Consulting experience
- Managing projects with distributed team members
- PMP certification
- Healthcare experience
- Proficiency with MS SharePoint and Visio
