Summary:

 

Working as part of a global team in a new role, the Senior Systems Administrator will be based in San Mateo and will be responsible for managing help desk tickets, Windows desktop, server, telecom, projects, and infrastructure support including Cisco and LINUX systems.

 

The successful candidate will plan and execute large projects and will work closely and report to the IT Manager to identify key projects and priorities accordingly. Critical to this person’s success will be the ability to provide technical support to the NetSuite office in San Mateo and to support other USA and International offices if/when necessary.

 

Responsibilities:

 

The Senior Systems Administrator will:

 

·        Manage local and International IT Cases, in a timely manner and roadblocks are removed whenever present.

·        Support OpenVPN server which is running on a LINUX OS

·        Provide support at datacenter if/when necessary

·        Email SPAM filtering support

·        Anti-virus application support

·        Exchange 2007/2010 support

·        Plan, document, and communicate all changes while minimizing customer disruption.

·        Test and implement operating systems, upgrades and enhancements using SCCM and WDS.

·        Respond to emergency calls relating to server and desktop performance, diagnosis of problems, and resolve issues outside of normal business hours when required

·        Maintain data integrity and security on both desktops and servers

·        Create and maintains system images in pace with new computer hardware and software.

·        Move employees computers and phones as needed.

·        Monitor Error logs and provide routine maintenance to mission critical servers.

·        Purchase equipment and services.

·        Telecom support

·        Cisco routers, switches, and LINUX systems such as Cisco firewall ASA appliance

·        Take training courses that align with corporate and learn new relevant technologies.

Qualifications/Skills:

 

The successful candidate will need at least 8-10 years of experience in a similar role working in a Microsoft domain (AD) and Cisco environment, and will have an accredited degree or equivalent experience. Preference will be given to candidates with the following accreditations:

 

·        CCNA certified

·        MCSA, MCDST or MCSE certified

·        A+ Certification (or equivalent vendor hardware certification)

·        Proficient in the latest Windows Server Technology with extensive knowledge in Windows 2003, 2008, XP and Win 7

·        Proficient in Microsoft Active Directory

·        Cisco VOIP Telecom Experience

·        Cisco switch/router experience with various models such as 2900, 3600, 3800, 3900, and 6500 series

·        Cisco ASA 5500 series experience

·        Familiarity with various backup software packages (Veritas preferred)

·        Experience with managing telecom voice and data services

·        Procurement of computer equipment, network equipment and telecom products and services and ability to negotiate best pricing

·        Desktop deployment: SMS, SCCM and WDS

·        Telecom System Administration: SIP and H323 VOIP technologies

·        UPS and cabling experience

·        Routing protocol experience such as OSPF, EIGRP

·        Exceptional customer service

·        High level of Initiative

·        Strong leadership and communications skills

·        Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·        Excellent interpersonal skills
