Senior Java Developer / Java Tech Lead - High Profile Greenfield Equities Technology Project – Front Office – High Frequency / Low Latency - Tier One Investment Bank
Introduction: Montash Associates have been retained by an industry leading bulge bracket Investment Bank, to assist in the search for and acquisition of an exceptionally strong Senior Java Developer / Java Tech Lead.

The Team: An exceptional Front Office Technology Team within the Equities space, focussed on designing and building software of the highest quality. This area and team is critical to a large technology upgrade programme within this highly successful bank. The team is working on a high frequency / low latency system that is critical to the IB’s revenue stream. Individuals must be self-motivated, confident and comfortable working with Expert java developers and Tech leads.
The Project: A Greenfield project, moving from two legacy systems towards a brand new equities platform. Highly skilled Java developers will be designing and building this brand new platform to be used across the highly profitable equities business.
The Role: This is an opportunity for a highly motivated experienced Senior Java Developer / Development Lead to play a key part in the expansion and integration of the equities business globally. The successful candidate will be responsible for assistance with our user/technical requirements, design, development and implementation of the Greenfield global Equities platform.
The main duties of the role are Architecture, Technical Design, Development, Team leading, mentoring and participating in the full system development lifecycle and deployment of new and existing equities system applications.
The Skills:
Essential:
- Strong Core Java, High Frequency, Low –Latency, multithreading, Hibernate, Spring.
Desirable:
- Good knowledge Web Sphere MQ and Tibco EMS.
- Knowledge of Mule ESB, JMS and XML, JBOSS
- Proficient at UNIX Solaris/Linux and MS Windows. UNIX, Shell and Perl Scripting.
- Good knowledge of Sybase and ANSI SQL or Transact-SQL ISQL, BCP, SQL queries and Stored Procedures.
- Object oriented design and programming as well being at least familiar with design patterns with a pre-requisite.
- Good understanding of full software life cycle development process.
- Ideal but not essential experience working in financial markets with knowledge in some or all PB supported products especially Stock Lending.
- 10+ years working in a software development and/or support capacity in a time critical financial markets environment.
