Senior Java Developer Job in Seattle, Washington US
The Java Developer's main goal is to implement the project as specified within the planned timeframe. The Developer is also expected to help specify the features of physical design, estimate time and effort to complete each feature, build or supervise implementation of features, prepare product for deployment, and provide technology subject-matter expertise to the team.
Currently the organization has everything on the back-end in ColdFusion or SQL DataBase, with nothing in the middle-tier space. They are trying to change this and to implement standardized procedures, hence the SOA experience being needed.
This group focuses on the Middle-Tier (Service Mart).
Java Developer Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Tech Lead, System Architect and Business Analyst to integrate different perspectives into technical documentation
- Demonstrate best-practice knowledge and apply skills to deliver an effective solution specific to project needs
- Translate business and technical requirements into extensible, scalable and maintainable services
- Design and Implement an efficient solution that meets the functional requirements and is extensible and easily maintained
- Extend existing or develop new code base using proven best-practice patterns and coding standards
- Understand functional and technical specifications
- Thoroughly unit test code for all contingencies outlined in the requirements documentation
- Check code and communicate task status in a timely manner
- Become integral part of SOA team that will provide internal and external services through the JBoss SOA software stack
The successful Senior Java Developer will meet the following requirements (items are required unless noted otherwise):
- JBoss SOA experience - JBoss clustering, ESB, Drools, Smooks, jBPM
- MUST have SOA experience. Will consider someone without JBoss as long as they have strong SOA background on any platform, such as Websphere, Oracle, Weblogic, Mule ESB, etc.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field
- 5+ years as a Senior Java Developer; coding, designing and optimizing high-traffic, mission-critical applications
- Java applications in a code-managed, multi-tier object-oriented development environment with process-release management in place
- 3+ years creating or interfacing with SOA solutions
- 2+ years working with JBoss application server and/or JBoss Enterprise Service Bus
- 5+ years working with Microsoft SQL Server 200X as a developer
- 2+ years Web Services
- 3+ years XML
- Any experience in Rules Engines or BPM processes is a plus
- Excellent PC skills; MS Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook
