Senior Java Developer (Telecommute) at Gaggle.Net (Seattle, WA) (allows remote)
Job Description
We are looking to hire 2 really great java programmers to join our six person developer team.
If you're looking for a lifestyle change Gaggle might be the answer:
- Are you tired of endless meetings?
- Do you wish you worked on meaningful projects where the code actually got deployed?
- What if you could work from home with flexible hours? - Skip the commute, eat dinner with your family wake up on your own schedule.
- Are you tired of creating endless demos?
The Position:
We need an exceptional developer to help enhance Gaggle's web and mobile tools. You'll work from home and the hours are flexible. We are seeking a full-time programmer for 40-50 hours per week.
We want someone who can actually do the work as opposed to someone who wants to manage others. We are seeking someone who can solve problems on their own and write solid code that holds up under high load.
You will be joining an existing team of six senior java developers who also work remotely. Our developers want to code, not manage others, hence they only want to work with someone who is already a great developer.
What you will be doing:
You'll be responsible for adding new features, tracking down and fixing bugs, and architecting developing new systems. We have interesting, complex problems that require solutions that hold up under high traffic volumes.
The Technology
Our technology is built using industry standard Java frameworks such as Struts, Hibernate, Spring, Lucene and others. Our data is housed on dozens of clustered MySQL databases and all our servers are powered by Linux.
Skills Requirements
5 years of solid experience coding java based systems. The ability to work independently and manage your time is important.
First and foremost, you need to be a Java expert. You should also have an excellent understanding of the following technologies, or be able to learn those you're unfamiliar with VERY quickly: Struts, Hibernate, Eclipse, standard mail protocols, HTML5 and JavaScript.
