General Qualifications:
- 5+ years of progressive experience in software development
- An inquiring open mind, superb analytical skills, and the ability to articulate your ideas
- 3+ years of Java application design and development
- 2+ years of J2EE/Web Services development
- The ability to quickly come up to speed on a foreign code base
- Minimum bachelor degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Mathematics
- Possess excellent communication, problem solving and analytical skills, a strong team player
- A good understanding of relational databases, SQL, UML, Design Patterns, and multi-threading programming
- Experience with or a working knowledge of JSF, JavaScript, JMS, JNI, Apache Tomcat, Apache Axis 2, Struts 2, Hibernate, or Spring would be an asset
Technical Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of J2EE, XML and Web Services
- Development technologies include: Eclipse, WSDL, JCR-170 and OSGi frameworks
- Middleware: Tomcat and Axis 2
- Object-oriented design using OMT/UML
Responsibilities:
- Play an active role in the design and implementation
- Support architect with detailed design
- Support extended team through coaching and mentoring
- Participate in the definition, adherence, and best-practices of development technologies
- Code in accordance with defined standards
- Perform unit and system integration test
