An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Lead Stress Engineer to work within the TWE Wing Pylon Centre of Excellence on the A350XWB project. This position is based on the Filton site near Bristol, UK.

 

The Senior Lead Stress Engineer will provide technical leadership to certification work package Lead Engineers. In order to fulfil these responsibilities, you will need to ensure that Airbus stress principles are applied consistently across the interfaces of component work package boundaries and you will need to demonstrate a high level of technical integrity, including the ability to work with a range of Airbus and non-Airbus personnel. In this role, you will be operationally accountable to an Engineering Team Leader and you will report functionally to A350 Chief Stress Engineer.

 

As the successful candidate you will be able to demonstrate the following skills:-

 

·         Degree in Engineering

·         Minimum of 5-10 years in a multi-disciplinary aero-structures engineering environment

·         Proven background of technical leadership, with demonstrated knowledge of static, fatigue and Damage Tolerance of both composite and metallic structures

·         The ability to rapidly and confidently assess structural problems and to provide the appropriate direction and guidance to team members

·         Knowledge and experience of aircraft certification requirements is advantages

·         Also vital to the role is a pro-active stance and the ability to work within teams and communicate effectively

·         The role will require the ability to work well in a transnational team

·         The candidate should already have achieved stress signatory status
