For the Legal department, we are looking for qualified legal professional for a challenging senior legal counsel position in Swiss head office.

Senior legal Counsel (m-f)

Nature of the role

As a Senior Counsel, you will support the procurement team by assisting o identify and resolve complex legal issues, involving external legal resource appropriate, across the entire procurement lifecycle.

The role will facilitate and align strategy development, build capabilities and manage complex internal and external stakeholder relationships ensuring supplier performance and sustainable development approaches are implemented across our organization and the suppliers.

Responsibilities included:

• You will work closely with the General Counsel and IS/IT-category teams to identify and resolve complex legal issues across multiple jurisdictions.

• Provide support across the procurement lifecycle by advising category teams on all aspects of contract design, development, implementation and on-going management.

• Draft and negotiate complex contractual arrangements for regional and global IT/IS projects in close collaboration with the commercial category teams.

• Train category teams on legal issues/good contracting practice.

• Advise category teams on supplier accreditation.

• Monitor legal/regulatory developments applicable to Group /categories.

• Advise on Firm's rights/ obligations when disputes arise.

• Instruct external legal to support particular negotiations/disputes and liaise with local legal advisors on all local law issues.

Ideal candidate should have / be..

• Fully qualified Lawyer either qualified in the UK or in other jurisdiction with proven track record in common law practice

• Number of years of post-qualification Experience

• Experience working in an international legal role either in a multinational company’s legal department (preferably) or in a global law firm with strong focus on commercial law and proven track record in similar business and / or consultancy of international clients.

• Extensive experience of working with complex, often multi-jurisdictional, contracts

• Experience of working as a legal ‘business partner’

• Extensive stakeholder management in a complex decentralised global environment

• Experience of successfully influencing across complex organisations

• Extensive stakeholder management in a complex decentralized global environment

• Excellent written and spoken English, German and additional languages skills welcome

• Working with other members of the Legal Team, and when required, the whole Group and external legal teams.

• Working with the all category teams to provide legal support for procurement contracting and provide legal training and skills transfer.
