Senior Legal Manager – Consumer Banking recruitment
Reporting directly to the Head of Legal, Consumer Banking, your main tasks are as follows:
- Provide legal advice and support to:
- the Consumer Bank business units i.e.
- advising on new product development
- drafting and reviewing terms and conditions of products and related promotional campaigns
- reviewing marketing materials for products and campaigns
- advising on legal issues arising from dealings with customers and branch/account operations.
- the Consumer Bank debt recovery units i.e. on general litigation issues arising from legal proceedings against defaulting borrowers.
- Draft and vet commercial agreements entered into by the Bank with business partners, service providers and suppliers arising from the above.
- Manage legal suits and potential suits against the Bank, i.e. liaise with external counsel, provide legal advice, briefings, recommendations and reports to business and Group stakeholders.
- Responsibility also extends to supporting Islamic banking arm as and when required.
To succeed in this key role, you must have the ability to lead effectively and possesses the following skills and experience:
- minimum 8 years legal experience, either practice or in-house
- experience in financial services industry, litigation and property conveyancing will be added advantage
- demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, through all levels of the organization
- leadership with the ability to see the big picture without losing attention to detail
- this position is open only to Malaysian passport holder or permanent resident
