MIG BANK were the first Forex broker to be granted a Swiss banking license back in 2009 and we are today the largest Swiss bank specialized in online Foreign Exchange.
We are currently based in Neuchâtel and will move our headquarters to Lausanne during the second quarter of 2012.

Senior Legal Officer
Job mission
This key senior management role will be responsible for all the legal affairs of the Bank, coordinating efforts in pursuit of the goals, objectives and mission of the company, according to the corporate values of MIG. Specifically, the Senior Legal Officer will write, review and modify contracts, as well as review and respond to legal summons and working with Management regarding legal issues.
Responsibilities
- Monitoring of legal and regulatory research,
- Drafting of procedures,
- Drafting of account opening documentations and agreements with business partners,
- Analyzing legal opinions of foreign market regulations,
- Providing counseling to various stakeholders of the bank,
- Handling of contracts,
- Handling of complaints and claims, including contact with external lawyers,
- Monitoring of IP rights in collaboration with our IT Department,
Profile
This is a rare opportunity to work in a wide and varied role with significant exposure to key stakeholders in the business and other functions. It would suit a qualified lawyer with the following attributes.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a legal function within a bank or within a top law firm specialized in banking matters,
- Good knowledge and experience in Forex from a legal perspective is essential to be successful in this role,
- Qualification as a lawyer, BA exam and/or Master in Banking Law ,
- Ability to provide confident and authoritative advice to senior Management,
- Ability to develop strong relationships with business and fellow Legal and support professionals,
- Excellent communication and writing skills, quality service orientation and ability to cope with pressure,
- Business awareness and the ability to provide practical advice and solutions to meet business needs,
- A proven track record of complex problem-solving, exercising a high level of judgment and taking calculated risks,
- First class drafting and negotiating skills,
- Ability to prioritize and manage projects effectively,
- Ideally, knowledge of international financial services regulatory issues,
- Fluency in English and French; knowledge of another European language is an advantage,
- Strong interpersonal skills, team player,
- Good command of usual IT tools,
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills,
- Excellent oral and written English skills,
- Swiss nationality, Swiss C, B, G working permit, OR EC European nationality.
