Senior Linux Engineer (OEL/Red Hat)
118626- We are looking for a Senior Linux Engineer to work for a top global company in the Marlboro Mass area. You need to have solid hands-on experience with either Oracle Enterprise Linux(OEL) or Redhat Linux. You also need to have strong VMWare experience. This position is more focused on engineering and delivery and NOT system administration.
Job Qualifications:
- Five to seven years of experience on UNIX operating systems including Redhat, Oracle Enterprise Linux, and Solaris.
- Two plus year of experience on VMware OS virtualization, Unix scripting, and server build automation.
- One plus year of experience in providing production support, capacity planning, patch management and developing Disaster Recovery process and procedures.
- Experience with storage is a plus including EMC Clarion, VMAX, or DMX.
- Experience with Active Directory, Centrify, and LDAP is also preferred.
- Must be able to work with multiple teams and be able to provide direction, as well as take direction.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to articulate technical solution to the management team.
- Must be able to independently plan and coordinate large projects.
- The responsibilities include: installing UNIX server, evaluating server technologies, designing infrastructure solutions, managing infrastructure upgrades, and providing L3 support. In this role, the individual will provide the technical direction to Developers, Architects, and End-users to implement product solutions to meet the business requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the design, implementation, deployment, and support of UNIX technologies.
- Research solutions providing functional and technical written evaluations of products and operating system upgrades and patches.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, architecture, and development teams to provide implementation blueprints, industry best practices, and vendor product guidelines.
- Prioritize work efforts, multi-task in a very fast-paced environment, and provide timely and clear updates.
- Assist the Project Manager with the budgets, resource allocation, task distribution, delivery management, risk management, and other project management tasks.
- Establishing ITIL-based processes and standards.
