Senior Liquidity Risk Manager needed for Top Asian Bank in Shanghai, China recruitment
My client is a top Investment Bank headquartered in Asia who are looking for a senior liquidity risk manager in Beijing. Due to the increased level of regulation and the recent and imminent introduction of various new regulations, our client is strengthening their regulatory reporting team, specifically within their treasury team, to oversee and develop all liquidity risk regulatory reporting in China.
A Director level platform, this role reports to the global head based in London, and so is the most senior regulatory reporting person (for liquidity risk), with oversight of a team of 5 who produce the various reports for review by the incumbent in this role.
As a Liquidity Team Lead within Banking Market Risk you will;
- Manage a small team of risk analysts covering liquidity and market risk
- Take the lead on the teams involvement in major projects across the SanUK Group
- Help to analyse and quantify risks in retail, corporate and wholesale products, particularly relating to counterparty behaviour and treatment under
- internal and regulatory liquidityregimes.
- Apply your understanding of the commercial, financial and risk drivers of the business and internal/external forces to recommend and implement improvements to risk analytics and reporting, thus improving the risk decision making process.
- Help to develop liquidity and funding stress tests and use the output of these to drive business change where necessary.
- Work with other business areas in Risk, Retail and Corporate Divisions and Financial Markets, and support Market Risk management in business or departmental wide initiatives.
- Provide ad-hoc analysis as required.
- Work on initiatives to and deal with queries from senior management.
The successful candidate will have the following background and skill set;
- Education to degree standard in quantitative or business subject (e.g. maths, or economics), or equivalent.
- Banking or other financial services experience, with exposure to traded and non-tradedliquidity risk management and counterparty behaviour risks in particular.
- Relevant IT skills including good working experience of Excel.
- Good general analytical and problem solving skills, and the ability to make recommendations based on your own analysis.
- Practised written and verbal communication, with the proven ability to communicate complex issues succinctly and accurately.
- Previous liquidity and market risk management experience, including understanding of common metrics, and the current regulatory and compliance environment.
