Senior M&A Integration Accountant recruitment

Reporting to the MA Integration Manager in this newly created position, the successful candidate will participate in all aspects of due diligence and accounting integration activities throughout Europe, ensuring all accounting and controllership issues are being addressed from a group reporting and policy perspective, as well as from a local compliance perspective. The successful candidate will provide assistance to newly acquired companies on transactions that require complex technical accounting analysis.

This role involves a number of important responsibilities including:

- Ensuring smooth accounting integration throughout complex acquisitions;

- Providing technically accurate accounts and financial statements as they relate to a number of integrated entities;

- Working cross-functionally on large international projects and through integration of the business;

- Providing visible results for all MA accounting activities on a Pan-European scale;

- Interacting with a number of key stakeholders including global accounting teams, business development groups, finance, tax, legal, treasury and HR functions;

- A “hands-on” approach will be required in order to help grow and develop the MA accounting team.

With a role of this nature the following person profile would be an ideal fit:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics;

- Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, ACA or equivalent);

- A number of years experience with an emphasis in auditing, accounting and overall financial statement analysis;

- External audit and/or MA experience in European jurisdictions from a ‘Big 4’ or consulting firm is strongly preferred, ideally also with time spent in industry;

- Excellent technical accounting and analytical skills with experience in multiple GAAP’s – US and at least one European GAAP preferred;

- Strong interpersonal skills including persuasive oral / written communication skills;

- Ability to work well with cross-functional, cross-geographic teams;

- Strong multi-tasking and project management skills;

- Fluency in English; other language skills desirable;

- Strong computer-based skills- experience of an ERP is preferred (Oracle a plus);

- Demonstrated ability to positively contribute to milestone driven projects, meet tight deadlines and prioritise workload; 

- A strong desire to exceed expectations;

- Willingness to travel internationally.
