Senior Management Consultants (IT Programme/Strategy)
My client is a large multi-disciplinary consulting firm, and a leading provider of business, technology and project/programme consultancy solutions. Working with a wide range of clients in the public and private sector, my clients provides a wide range of consultancy and delivery services, primarily focused on technology enabled business change.
As part of continued business growth, my client seeks a number of Senior Consultants/Delivery Practitioners, who are passionate about delivering excellence to their clients, and looking for something slightly different from the traditional consultancy employers, to be based in the South West.
You will have been engaged in consulting and client-side delivery management for all aspects of the business lifecycle required in delivering IT programmes or projects, IT strategy or business portfolio management. Candidates will have experience of working closely with sponsors, executives, senior stakeholders and able to engage at all levels.
The Senior Consultant will:
Take a lead role in client or business delivery assignments with responsibility to manage small teams of consultants or service delivery activities
Produce deliverables to the expected quality and within commercial constraints
Be responsible for the commercial management of client assignments
Play a supporting role in business development by identifying new business opportunities, developing client relationships and contributing to business development strategies, tenders and sales activities
Be responsible for client relationships from initial contact through to project completion
Develop effective approaches to client requirements calling for originality and ingenuity in recommending innovate solutions
Contribute a broad range of management, programme management and IT skills, with an in depth knowledge of at least one relevant business sector.
Suitable applicants will have a consultancy background with an emphasis on Programme/Project Management or IT Portfolio/Business Change. We are particularly interested to hear from candidates with clearance to work in the Security sector and other areas of Government, although any public sector is an advantage
You will have been engaged in consulting and client-side delivery management for all aspects of the business lifecycle required in delivering IT programmes or projects, IT strategy or business portfolio management. You will have experience of working closely with sponsors, executives, senior stakeholders and able to engage at all levels. You will also have:
Minimum of 2.1 degree (or equivalent) in any relevant technical subject, with preferably a supplementary qualification in Management Studies or Information Systems in addition
Proven experience of consulting/delivery within client environments, predominant with experience/knowledge of the public sector
Demonstrable experience of leading projects and assignments, with evidence of responsibility to deliver in time pressured and complex technical or intense stakeholder environments.
Commercial skills with a proven ability to contribute to client performance and to develop fee income
Demonstrable leadership credentials in service delivery for client organisations
Recognised and certified qualified qualifications in Programme/Project Management skills eg APMP, MSP, PRINCE2, MoR, Benefits delivery.
