Senior Manager
Job Responsibilities:
The Product and Index Development team (PID) under the Equities FIC group is responsible for the development of fixed income, currency and non-HK underlying equity derivatives products. The Senior Manager, Index Development role supports HKEx group in delivering index-related initiatives in support of new business and strategic opportunities.
Key responsibilities of this role are :
- Provide project management, coordination and reporting for PID initiatives
- Lead the execution of the new BRICS index initiative, managing project and implementation. This role will be required to interact with internal and external project stakeholders including business owners, Legal, Technology, Finance and vendors
- Business development: (1) Research trends in indexation and liaise with internal and external product teams to build / license new properties for HKEx Group on existing index properties; and (2) Work with Product Development team to identify user needs, opportunities and solutions for new index-linked futures and options. Work with Product and Index Development to build business case and execution plan for senior management approval
- Index provider management: (1) Manage vendor relationships to achieve required service levels across key index providers; and (2) Support negotiation of IP licensing and service agreements as required to support HKEx Group Initiatives
Requirements:
- At least 7 years of experience in the following areas:
- Familiarity with index design and construction - equity index experience is required. Fixed income, commodity and alternative asset index knowledge would be an asset. Candidate must be familiar with major index methodologies, standards and recent developments in indexation, as applied to Asia regional and international needs
- Working experience with leading projects: at least 5 years of experience in leading cross functional project teams involving business, technology and research workstreams. Experience in working with teams across remote geographies would be an asset
- Vendor management: Experience with managing third party service vendors would be an asset
- Spoken and written fluency in Mandarin and English is required. Cantonese proficiency would be an asset
- Bachelor's degree required
