Treasury Business Control

The Treasury Business Control (TBC) team is responsible for supporting the Money Markets businesses in the delivery of their strategic aims, the efficient accounting of and control over the various transactions undertaken across the department and the delivery of insightful management information to senior executives. Our Core functions include:

The Business control team provide product control support for those transactions booked on the strategic platform. At the end of 2011 and continuing into 2012 a major project to simplify and combine the disparate accounting functions of the two heritages has been undertaken. This has resulted in a number of migrations from heritage systems onto the target platform, with the aim on aligning both accounting and reporting functions

The team currently comprises five qualified accountants who prepare the daily reporting and two temporary staff to support the team. There is currently active recruitment for a dedicated daily p+l team manager to drive the continuing improvements and projects within the team.

Senior Manager Role

A role has arisen for a Temporary Project Senior Manager in the TBC business control team with around 5 years post qualified experience, to backfill the current senior manager. Ideally they will have a comprehensive product control background in all money market, FX and Bond products. Additionally they will have knowledge or current financial reporting requirements to ensure that the set up of books and records are efficiently and effectively managed. Their experience should not be limited to solely product control products as knowledge of risk and balance sheet reporting is essential.

This role requires a determined and resilient candidate who will fit well within TBC structure; they will be the focal point of contact for the team in general and the management team above them as well as the respective front office Money Market desk heads, primarily within Money Market but also the wider business control community. An individual with strong interpersonal skills allied to a deadline and detail focused approach that can bring their experience and knowledge to support and develop the team and the requirements of the department's stakeholders. They will be required to take hands on responsibility and ownership for all aspects pertaining to the role, including but not exclusively; Financial reporting, Product Control, Migration project management, Integration, Staff Training and management and also developing the reporting suite and associated tools, by exploiting those opportunities that present themselves.
