- Support the CEO, CFO, CCO and IR head in external communication with investors. As appropriate, field calls and help respond to questions from investment community, ensuring accurate and consistent disclosure of key business objectives, business results, strategies, and decisions as part of an overarching investor story about the company.
- Develop, maintain and implement proactive investor targeting and tracking. While doing so, develop and maintain relationships based on trust, respect and credibility.
- Draft quarterly earnings releases, investor presentation and other investor materials. This includes frequent and intense collaboration with legal, finance, commercial, as well as appropriate input from RD and compliance.
- Support internal constituents with messaging, communications preparation and presentations in order for the company to have a standardized communication cadence. Specifically, work with department head to oversee a core QA document that acts as a central and consistent reference for all external spokespersons and to manage and maintain a compelling company presentation deck.
- Oversee an investor outreach calendar that includes participation at appropriate conferences, facilitation of non-deal road shows, 1x1 meetings and conference calls with buy and sell side contacts. Manage details and logistics associated with all conferences and meetings.
- Help management achieve a high return-on-time from investment community interactions through prioritization of management time and the IR outreach calendar.
- Seamless ability to work with and interface on a continuous basis with other functional groups including legal, finance and communication.
- Works closely with FPA to assess sell side analyst financial models, and comparable company analytics and company valuations. Identify various messaging opportunities with financial media.
- Works with legal in preparation for the annual meeting, annual report, and other corporate activities.
- Works with accounting on quarterly earnings materials and appropriate review.
- Maintain routine contact with the company’s stock surveillance firm regarding the stock performance, shareholder base and macroeconomic factors affecting the company stock.
- Manage IR website, including creating and monitoring content.
- Internal distribution, summary and analysis of news, press releases, sell side reports and other relevant information.
- Be a brand and company ambassador in external interactions and bring an investor perspective to relevant internal interactions.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics or other business related field; MBA preferred
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience, including at least 5 years in equity research (buy or sell side), investor relations and financial communications.
- Strong understanding of the financial community and the stock market.
- Biotechnology and/or related healthcare experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to establish relationships in a new industry quickly. Technical writing experience a must with the ability to communicate financial and scientific information to a sophisticated audience.
- Command of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Travel is required
