Job Description AECOM is seeking a full-time Senior Manager for Climate Change Services to support management of AECOM s growing climate change and environment practice based in Arlington, VA. Under the direction of the Practice Director, the Senior Manager responsibilities will include: (1) development, implementation, and monitoring of climate change projects through home office management support and field visits; (2) growth of the practice portfolio through the management of preparation of new project proposals; and (3) development of technical outputs such as policy briefs, applied research and technical analysis. The incumbent will have subject matter knowledge in one or more climate change focus areas, including clean energy, sustainable landscapes and adaptation. The successful candidate will work closely with the Practice Director and other members of the home office and project teams to undertake the following major responsibilities: Support continued development and implementation of the climate change and environment practice strategy, including strategic positioning, development of proprietary capabilities, and strategic linkages with other AECOM operation units. Develop and sustain collaborative relationships with officials of USG agencies, particularly USAID, and host governments, key business leaders, and representatives of other major international organizations and development partners. Represent AECOM in meetings with clients and partners at senior levels, both as relates to ongoing project implementation, and to developing new business and strategic partnerships. Manage multiple projects to ensure successful completion within budget and on time. Tasks will include oversight of project start-up and close-out, quality assurance of contract deliverables, management of sub-contractors, staffing, financial management and reporting, compliance with contract and corporate legal and policy requirements, etc. Support new business development, including but not limited to: identification and screening of new opportunities, gathering of relevant information through trips to target countries, development of proposed project teams, preparation of written technical proposals and related budgets and recruitment. Develop technical papers, policy briefs, applied research and proprietary tools and capabilities that reflect advances in climate and environment and provide areas for wider application with client agencies and other partners. Represent AECOM at technical meetings, including conferences, training workshops, symposiums, to present subject matter findings and capabilities, and to identify emerging areas for technical investigation. Qualifications AECOM is seeking a highly motivated professional with significant demonstrated experience in international development with outstanding qualifications and professional skills. Key qualifications include: At least 5-7 years of experience managing USAID projects in the areas of climate change, clean energy, environment, natural resources management, water and sanitation or infrastructure development. Technical expertise and proven capabilities in climate change adaptation and/or mitigation, including both clean energy and natural resources management and related fields. Advanced degree in relevant fields, including clean energy, environment, natural resources management, economics or related field. Comprehensive knowledge of USAID regulations and policies. Direct overseas experience implementing USAID field projects preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
