The client is looking for an experienced and passionate Compliance industry with strong local, Singapore regulatory experience and working with regulator. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding and experience in Financial Markets, Financial Markets products and providing business advisory.
The Senior Manager - Financial Markets, Compliance is responsible for the implementation and delivery of the bank's Compliance Strategy for Financial Markets in Singapore. Singapore is a regional hub for the bank, hence the Senior Manager - Financial Markets, Compliance is expected to provide a thought leader role throughout Asia for Financial Markets matters.
Main Responsibilities:-
- Design, implement and monitor aligned Compliance frameworks and methodologies with a focus on Financial Markets (FM);
- Implement Business Obligations and Action Plans for Singapore Financial Markets
- Demonstrate contribution to the achievement of the bank's FM strategic priorities;
- Engage and liaise with leaders within the bank's FM, Group Services and across the organisation to foster a culture of Compliance which enables the Compliance strategy;
- Educate and make aware the best practices across the Compliance FM o ensure optimum outcomes, enhance staff development and foster a culture of constructive collaboration and continuous improvement;
- Achieve demonstrable improvement in the control framework or adaption of it to regulatory change;
- Ensure the FM Compliance team is appropriately resourced and engaged in assessing the impact of regulatory reform in business advice;
- Ensure the bank is represented in regional Financial Markets Industry Groups and participates in Industry comment on proposed regulatory change;
- Ensure strong relationship and partnership with the bank's FM regulators, and that they are kept appraised of the bank's compliance
Main Requirements:-
- Minimum Bachelor Degree in Law, Finance or relevant discipline from a recognised University
- Senior Compliance or Legal experience; experienced in direct working with MAS
- More than 7 years of pqe experience in large corporations, regulator or international legal/accounting organisation
- Prior experience in Risk or Compliance function in Wholesale Banking or Financial Services organisation highly preferred
- Senior stake-holders management skills; both internally and externally
- Strong leadership skills in driving and managing strategic projects
- Extremely customer centric, highly analytical, creative thinking skills, self-starter, hands-on, responsible and independent
- Experienced in front-office dealing and treasury environments highly regarded
- The ideal candidate should be based in Singapore, possess strong understanding of Singapore Compliance regulations and policies
