Senior Manager – Credit Risk recruitment
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBITIES:
- Executing processes related to audit planning, audit fieldwork and audit report writing.
- Review and revision of corporate credit risk framework (policies and procedures across credit processes viz. credit risk strategy, credit approval processes, risk rating processes, credit administration processes, credit review processes) .
- Collecting and analyzing data to detect deficient controls, duplicated effort, extravagance, fraud, or non-compliance with laws, regulations, and management policies.
- Inspecting account books and accounting systems for efficiency, effectiveness, and use of accepted accounting procedures to record transactions.
- Examining and evaluating financial and information systems, recommending controls to ensure system reliability and data integrity.
- Development of in-house capability for validation and revision of credit risk models.
- Appraising the Bank’s risk and capital management requirements to ensure that the bank holds capital reserves appropriate to the risk the bank exposes itself to through its lending and investment practices.
- Verification of all Basel II calculations to be submitted to Central Bank and other authorities.
- Overseeing of credit self assessment processes including portfolio strategy planning, risk structuring, transaction monitoring, performance assessment, etc.
- Monitoring of limits by sector, geographic region, products, customer, maturity, country, Monitoring of Credit lines and generating necessary MIS and Reports.
- Undertaking of credit risk portfolio analysis on a regular basis.
- Monitoring of key risk indicators and undertaking of risk and control self assessments pertaining to the credit area.
- Proper understanding and a working knowledge of Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates (CBUAE) guidelines for implementation of the Basel II and soon to be implemented Basel III Capital Accord, Bank for International Settlements' International Convergence of Capital Measurement and Capital Standards, including all relevant regulatory requirements.
- Competent in examining all submitted returns in line with local regulator’s current reporting instructions (including notes and definitions) and any further rulings.
- Expertise in reviewing organizational regulatory and economic capital models, stress testing, ICAAP frameworks, and applications in risk assessment, monitoring and associated controls.
- Inculcating a culture amongst bank staff that auditing is a support function carried out by independent professionals for the benefit of all staff at various levels in the organization.
- Performing all such operating activities as may be assigned by Head of Internal Audit.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
- Development of comprehensive Credit Risk and Basel II III Audit Programs.
- Training man-days for staff.
- Timely resolution of allotted Audits and Assignments.
- Identification of potential efficiency improvements and opportunities for adding value across the business.
- Timely completion of special projects assigned.
JOB KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- 10 + years of experience in Credit Risk Management, Basel II implementation.
- Preferred experience in Internal Audit.
- Worked in Modeling for credit risk management (VAR, VBA).
- Good knowledge of SAS is preferable.
- Proficient knowledge of ERM is preferable.
- Post graduate or equivalent degree/certification in finance or management (FRM, CFA will be an added advantage).
- Strong team player with an ability to manage matrix relationships.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
