With over 98 million active accounts worldwide, PayPal, a fully owned subsidiary of eBay, is the world's standard for online payments. Global Core Payments (GCP) is responsible for managing the global products and partnerships that enable the movement of funds into and out of the PayPal system. At this time, GCP is seeking a senior payments professional to help support PayPal's rapidly growing Global business. This position will be cross-functional in scope and will focus on:
- Identifying potential new UK market payment needs
- Managing and optimizing existing GCP bank products
- Managing and developing PayPal's relationships with external UK bank partners (banks, processors, schemes and networks)
- Representing PayPal in key payment forums
The position will:
- Develop and execute bank payment solutions strategy for PayPal, including high level product design, evaluation of competitive and regulatory issues, and assessment and integration of Financial Institution partners
- Provide thought leadership by developing, maintaining and promoting deep payments knowledge at a local country level (with particular emphasis on UK but also additional countries) to institutionalize payments expertise at PayPal.
- Identify new bank payment related initiatives/opportunities that enable business expansion or lowers PayPal's overall transaction processing costs and define the associated business requirements
- Develop business cases in support of new payments products and features, and process and infrastructure enhancements
- Creatively leverage financial institution partnerships to further PayPal's strategic business objectives
- Work closely with other cross functional PayPal teams (Country teams, Accounting, Treasury, Risk, CS Ops etc.) to identify ways to optimize existing funds in/out solutions within the UK market and sponsor associated product development and/or process enhancements/changes
- Ongoing PayPal relationship management of key Financial Institution partners that enable money movement in/out of the PayPal system via bank payments, including:
- New partner due diligence
- Ongoing relationship establishment
- Contract negotiation and development
- Optimization of overall value of relationships
The ideal candidate should have a BS/BA degree and professional experience in European payments at a bank, network, processor, or consultancy, with a strong emphasis on UK bank payments, cash management solutions and partner management.
The candidate should have a proven track record of working with cross functional groups to identify payment market needs and facilitating solution development.
Individual must be creative, able to deliver innovative solutions in the continuously evolving realm of electronic payments.
Ability to manage and maximize value of partner relationships is critical.
Basic knowledge required of all prevalent payments method however the primary requisite is in-depth knowledge of the UK Bank payment networks.
The candidate should be fluent in English with additional language skills a strong plus.
The position will require approximately 15% international travel.
