Senior Manager – Insurance recruitment
My client is a leading financial services institution with offices worldwide. They have an opportunity for a Senior Manager to be based in either their Riyadh office or their Doha office and a Manager in their Bahrain office.

Both roles will be very “hands-on” with a great deal of business development within the MENA region. You must have excellent technical knowledge alongside your passion for sales and relationship building. You will be given all the support necessary to build an insurance function in the relevant region but you must consider yourself a self-starter to be an ideal fit for this role.
This role involves a number of important responsibilities including:
- Display a high level of technical competency within the Insurance Sector specifically related to Regulations, Life, Health, Reinsurance, Underwriting, Claims and associated areas;
- Responsible for building valued relationships with external clients and internal peers and develop a portfolio of business by focusing on high impact opportunities;
- Lead presentations and proposals for medium complex projects or elements of highly complex projects and provide subject matter insight to bids and proposals;
- Provide a first line of response to clients in respect of Insurance sector matters and ensure practices and procedures are able to fit operational requirements as well as contribute to thought leadership;
- Package overall project findings into clear, concise, high-quality work products and act as a subject matter resource within the regulatory framework, leveraging knowledge and experience to shape services to client problems;
- Serve as a role model for Quality Risk Management and make sure that project teams understand and comply with the relevant guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues across the MENA region and globally including engagement partners and managers and work to build, manage and motivate high-performing teams, and help key staff to build sustainable competencies.
With a role of this nature the following person profile would be an ideal fit:
- Strong understanding of Insurance business requirements ideally within the Gulf Co-operative Countries;
- Knowledge of the Saudi and/or Bahraini insurance market would be beneficial;
- Subject matter expertise of current regional, local and international regulations, in particular SAMA and frameworks such as IFRS, Solvency II and AML;
- Working knowledge within one of Life, Health, Reinsurance or Underwriting;
- Knowledge of Insurance Claims modelling, testing and validation and risk measurement;
- Strong analytical skills and knowledge of Insurance risk and operational management matters including possible experience of running an insurance department or consulting engagements;
- Strong track record with a blue chip consulting firm, or financial institution;
- Experience in business development;
- Strong academic record including a qualification in Insurance or an associated industry.
