Senior Manager Job in Washington 20036, District Of Columbia US

We are seeking a Senior Manager of Operations for a DC client.

 

Responsibilities:

·        Provide High Cost Program oversight of data collection, validation, calculation, disbursement and reporting functions in compliance with the Telecommunications Act of 1996, Connect America Fund (CAF), FCC and Congressional directives

·        Manage staff that completes High Cost support component calculations and creates monthly disbursements, quarterly filings.

·        Create and implement monthly, weekly, and/or daily timelines to meet time-sensitive business deadlines; 

·        Establish internal controls and risk-mitigation processes to improve program integrity and ensure payments to carriers are timely and accurate

·        Work closely with the Information Technology division to carry out technical initiatives

·        Ensure all operations activities and processes are successfully executed in accordance to predefined operations schedules to produce monthly, quarterly and annual reporting; 

·        Work with management to ensure disbursement and projection calculations are accurate and valid;

·        Monitor and manage compliance with regulatory rules, regulations and new development;

·        Enact contingency plans as needed and direct activities during system problems, disasters, etc.

·        Report status, error trends and suggested remedies, and performance to senior management on a recurring basis

·        Support customer service, and ad hoc information requests;

·        Continuous efforts towards process improvement through best practices;

·        Develop reporting requirements for control reports for operations processes

·        Analyze and provide resolution of control reporting exceptions for operations processes

·        Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment based on teamwork and planning to achieve desired results; 

·        Understand resource constraints and communicate realistic expectations to senior management;

 

 

Qualifications:

·        Bachelor?s degree from an accredited college or university, Advanced degree is preferred;

·        4 ? 6 years of direct work experience with the High Cost program is preferred;

·        6 ? 8 years of operations management experience in high precision, time critical environment;

·        6 ? 8 years of project management experience; 

·        6 ? 8 years of direct work experience using SQL, MS Excel and Access;

·        Must have personnel management skills in both direct and matrix reporting organization structures;

·        Microsoft Office Suite knowledge is desired.
