Senior Manager M&A

My client is a leading multinational insurance company. Due to a marked upturn in their MA activity, they are looking to hire an experienced corporate finance advisor to join their group MA function.

Group Mergers Acquisitions (MA) is responsible for the identification and evaluation of inorganic opportunities; managing the MA process end-to-end. This includes co-ordination of internal approvals and negotiations with counterparties and providing advice and support to Board and senior executives. The team works closely with other group functions, business units globally and advisers to fulfil its role.

We are seeking a talented and ambitious individual to join its Group MA team in London as Senior Manager, Group MA (broadly equivalent to a Senior Associate).

You will be joining a dedicated team of professionals responsible for ensuring the company’s strategy is fulfilled globally with regards to acquisitions, joint ventures and disposals.

You will be a critical member of the team and will be fundamental in the drive to realise the company’s strategic aims. You'll be required to work alongside senior members of the Group MA team, and the Chief Strategy and Development officer on MA projects.

Essential Knowledge and Skills

• An in depth knowledge of the Insurance sector
• Significant corporate finance experience (broadly equivalent to a Senior Associate level), ideally in Insurance or financial services, gained within an investment bank, corporate finance house or corporate environment.
• Demonstrated project management skills, with the clear ability to lead and motivate virtual internal teams and manage advisers (financial, accounting, actuarial and legal), in at times difficult and pressurised environments
• Sound commercial judgement, strategic thinking and general business management skills
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills
• Exceptional communication skills (both written and oral), with the ability to influence and persuade. Ability to build good relationships across the organisation and to manage internal and external stakeholders
• A desire to seek solutions and succeed
• Willingness to travel internationally, as needed
