Objective of the job
The jobholder will actively participate in Ageas Group Risk Forum and different meetings to provide and convey comments representing Asia regional office on different group policies. The jobholder will also provide support to Head of Insurance Risk Management Asia and Head of Financial Risk Management Asia in the regional office.
The function organizes the transfer of knowledge and expertise from Ageas into the joint ventures and vice versa especially in the domains of operational risk management.
He/She will assist to transfer the risk management methodology of Ageas into the life insurance joint ventures in Asia and he/she follows up whether the risk governance in the joint ventures is compliant with the Ageas’ principles for Risk Governance, taking into account the different market circumstances. He/She helps the joint ventures from a regional perspective to become best practices for risk management in their country.
Deliverables
- Responsible for coordinating, aligning and consolidating all the comments from regional offices on Group policies to Head office and communicating back to regional office risk team of any new policies and methodologies from Head office
- Assist in the built-up of a sound risk management within the insurance joint ventures
- Implementing the risk management framework for Asia taking into account the Ageas corporate guidelines and the local market circumstances
- To support the Ageas’ representatives in the joint ventures with expertise in risk governance and risk modelling.
- To aim for consistency of risk governance and risk modelling throughout the region, and compliant with Ageas’ principles
- Contribute to risk reporting (KRR, CRSA, Solvency, LAT, MCEV, VNB, ORSA, financial risk reporting, operation risk reporting etc…)
- To report to supervisor on the risk exposures for the insurance operation activities in Asia.
- Organizing exchange of information and best practices throughout the region
- Project support and management, determined by regional office and Ageas representatives in the joint venture, where transfer of knowledge, experiences, products, software are needed
Required knowledge and experience
- Nearly or Full Qualified actuary with Certified Risk qualification is highly preferred
- Around 5-6 years of experience in actuarial, risk management preferably from international insurer
- Fluent spoken and written Cantonese, Mandarin and English
- Good coordinator with well communication skills and cultural awareness
- Candidates with strong experience will be considered for Senior Manager’s role.
