Senior Manager, Market Data recruitment
This role resides within the Institutional Banking and Markets Unit. Our Total Capital Solutions approach allows IBM to deliver the industry expertise and specialist skills that meet our clients' needs and span the capital spectrum. IBM provides equity, debt and core banking services, including payment systems?and we are recognised as a market leader in risk management.
IBM Business Management has responsibility for coordinating product, support and business management resources to assist IBM achieve operational efficiencies across products and supporting processes. Our team supports the vision through services such as:
- Assistance with strategy development, and provision of products, MIS and analysis for Trading and Sales teams
- Management of BAU requests and initiatives
- Embedding good governance, culture and values through oversight and measurement
- Product, process, controls and change management including learning initiatives to support clients and staff
- Infrastructure, administration, logistics, data services and business continuity
Role Purpose:
Overall management of Market Data usage encompassing the following Business Units:
- Institutional Banking Markets
- Business Private Banking
- Group Strategy
- Group Risk
- Financial Services (Group treasury, Investor Relations)
- International Financial Services (on a consulting basis)
- Group Subsidiaries: ASB BankWest.
Arrange the execution of IBM's strategy for provision of Market Data through developing and maintaining excellent commercial relationships with Market Data suppliers to the Bank. Ensure that the Bank's legal and commercial interests are protected, and manage the overall delivery of Market Data to achieve high service levels and operational efficiency.
You will be expected to perform the following tasks in a manner consistent with CBA's Values of Honesty, Integrity and Trust and CBA's Behaviours of Performance-Driven, Accountable, Customer-Focussed and Teamwork.
Internal and External Client / Customer Service:
- Provide superior service aligned with the client's [and partner's] needs and the organisation's business objectives.
- Educate the specific business division(s) in new technologies and IT cost drivers
Contribution to Business / Profit
Deliver the following periodic services:
- Review of Market Data provision ? Monthly Quarterly
- Overall control of the Market Data database to ensure that Market Data costs are correctly reflected, expensed on a monthly basis.
- Contract negotiation initiation, cancellation and review.
- Involvement in discussions of Budgeting and forecasting with IBM Finance
- Review the usage of Market Data with a view to ensure productivity and efficiency is maintained across Market Data.
- Proactively participate in any IT industry and CBA forums ? that are relevant to the role of your Team and conduct and interpret research on emerging industry and technology trends to enable the Bank to proactively leverage its position in the market
Deliver the following continuous services:
- Correct billing and charges to all BU's with transparency in reporting.
- Clear DQ at the end of each month.
- Vendor service delivery management
- Inventory management
- Ensure that the delivery of Market Data to all users is uninterrupted.
- Liaise with the Market Data Service Desk to ensure that Market data is correctly provisioned.
Liaise with the Market Data Services technical teams, third parties to ensure that SLA's are complied with. Technical Third parties including but not limited to ? Reuters, Bloomberg, EBS, Radianz, Factset, Factiva, SP, HP, Trading Portals (many), and other service providers.
Requirements:
Proven experience in the end to end operations of Market Data globally.
Relevant tertiary qualifications with good grades ideally with a Business/Financial Markets related discipline.
Proven experience in projects and process changes
Experience working in a corporate environment
Experience management supplier relationships and working to tight deadlines
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
Ability to articulate client requirements into valued solutions
