Being a part of the super regional bank growth, the Senior Manager Market Risk will take oversight of the Market's trading activities for the Local Markets business in Asia, Europe and America with a view to ensuring that all material risks are identified, quantified using appropriate methodologies and managed against approved risk limits and policy (well managed). This role also extends to ensure that Institutional risk in Local Markets has an integrated approach to risk management.
You will take accountability on the ongoing development and maintenance of risk measurement methodologies, risk limit framework and risk policy for relevant traded market risks. It is important to keep abreast of regulatory developments in the geographies which the local markets business operates in and ensuring senior management is aware of potential impacts to the bank. The role holder will develop and manage the team of product managers and analysts responsible for each of the abovementioned responsibilities and functions whilst providing appropriate opportunities and challenges for career development.
It is also your task to manage available resources to support the risk management, performance, strategic and breakout objectives of the Local Markets business. You will foster a strong, mutually respectful but independent relationship between Market Risk staff and the Local Markets business.
Qualifications:
This senior role will require experience in market risk across geographies outside Asia and solid understanding of Markets Risk management framework. The role holder should display the ability to communicate market risk concepts to a wide audience. Specific experience in market risk management across Asian geographies will be highly regarded. High analytical skills, problem solving skills, people management skills and communication skills will be mandatory.
