Senior Manager, Market & Trading Credit Risk Policy recruitment

Position Purpose:

You will obtain strategic alignment with RBC Capital Markets by leading the development of market trading risk policies to ensure they meet or exceed industry best practices and that regulatory standards are reached.  Your leadership will ensure the effective and efficient communication of all trading risk management policies to trading businesses.

Key Accountabilities:

• Developing and maintaining market and trading credit risk policies, with a trading credit risk focus, in the form of Standing Orders for the RBC Capital Markets trading businesses, ensuring alignment with business strategies and risk appetite.
• Providing guidance for policy development in relation to credit risk as it relates to trading/derivative products.
• Maintaining a high level of awareness of developments in the business, market and regulatory environments and amending and updating policies in response to changes in the business and/or regulatory environment.
• Working in partnership with subject matter experts to understand business requirements and translating such requirements into policy.
• Communicating market and trading credit risk policies (Standing Orders) effectively and responsively. Ensuring that the Market and Trading Credit Risk Policy website contains current policies.
• Assisting with the design and maintenance of an effective policy papers review, approval and communication process, including submission standards, committee mandate, approval management and the flow of policy papers through the Capital Markets Risk Committee.
• Providing senior level support with Capital Markets Risk Committee’s key initiatives, as required.
• Effectively managing competing prioritizes for new and updates to policies (Standing Orders) with the need to maintaining a portfolio of up to date policies. Meeting tight deadlines while managing competing priorities.

Knowledge / Experience:

• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Superior command of the English language
• Minimum 5 years experience in credit or trading credit related activities
• CA, CFA and/or MBA preferred
• Demonstrated expertise of trading products, processes and businesses
• Deep knowledge of audit, compliance, market and credit risk activities, and legal documentation as they relate to capital markets trading
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize in a deadline-driven environment
• Demonstrated awareness of changing developments in the business, market and regulatory environments
• Sound judgement skills
