Job Scope Overview

The Senior Manager of Financial Reporting is responsible for accurate financial reporting and timely filing of all SEC reports. In this role, you must have the ability to stay appraised of, research and arrive at well reasoned conclusions on technical accounting issues, present clear and concise written documentation of GAAP applicable to new transactions, and implement requisite operational and documentation changes arising from new GAAP and SEC rules.

This position will also assist with joint venture and consolidations reporting.

Key Relationships

This position reports directly to the Vice President, Financial Reporting.

Major Responsibilities
* Manage the preparation and distribution of quarterly reporting required for earnings release and external reporting.
* Ensure compliance with GAAP and SEC rules and regulations, including the Sarbanes-Oxley Act as it relates to financial reporting.
* Coordinate efforts with internal departments and external groups to facilitate SEC filings and to gather financial and non-financial information for use in SEC filings.
* Prepare and analysis SEC filings and supporting MDA and footnotes.
* Draft financial statements and footnote disclosures for SEC filings. Maintain adequate support and documentation for all information included within each SEC filing.
* Prepare financial statements, reports and records by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information as needed.
* Ensure financial statements comply with GAAP requirements and prepares and maintains all supporting documentation for financial statements and related footnotes.
* Prepare financial statements and other financial data for press releases.
* Establish monthly and quarterly financial reporting calendar.
* Provide technical consulting support on the treatment of accounting issues, implementation of new accounting standards, compliance with U.S. GAAP, and SEC regulations.
* Manage the adoption of new accounting pronouncements and development of company accounting policies.
* Draft memo on quarterly basis addressing the impact of recent accounting literature and new accounting standards on the Company's financial statements.
* External audit coordination: Key contributor in annual audit and quarterly reviews.
* Monitor and revise policies and procedures to ensure the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting.

Education and Ideal Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related discipline required. CPA is required.
* 8+ years' of financial reporting experience, with at least 4 years of Big 4 public accounting experience.
* Proficient in US GAAP and technical research.
* Knowledge of IFRS preferred.
* Must have the ability to prioritize workload and perform multiple tasks under accelerated quarterly close deadlines. Superior attention to detail a must. Must bring a process improvement/work simplification mindset.
* SEC reporting background required.
* Ability to work independently and within a team environment, and able to make well-reasoned and timely decisions.
* Highly effective communicator (up, across, down) both written and orally
