POSITION OBJECTIVE
Lead IS Strategic Sourcing team focusing on the selection, rating, management and relationship with Kohl's IS suppliers across the Software, Services, and Hardware domains. Develop and maintain strong relationships across the IS community and collaborate and build strong relationships with critical business partners. Develop and manage the tactical one year plan as well as aligning a strategic three year plan with the IS and Business initiatives. Manage the team to include the Vendor Relationship Management of all IS vendors, the IS RFx process, Contract Management, Vendor Quality Management, and IS Asset Management.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage vendor management organization
- Create a Strategic roadmap over a one to three year horizon, aligning IS strategy and business demand with Supplier relationships and strategies, and efficient utilization of current and planned IS Assets.
- Create and maintain the plan that defines how IS will deliver its commitments through active management of all IS suppliers, assets, and resources.
- Develop business cases for new initiatives and incremental improvements.
Manage Kohl's IS vendor community
- Ensure that suppliers are managed at the enterprise level, reducing the number suppliers and leveraging the selected vendors.
- Provide primary point of contact to IS and business partners for escalations, feedback, strategic alignment and coordination of efforts.
- Determine the impact and demands on IS for proposed solutions to support informed decisions of IS investment and committed demand.
- Facilitate IS executive sponsorship of Vendor relations including annual Executive Briefings with strategic vendors.
Leverage IS spend across vendors and provide superior negotiations to save money
- Drive cost savings, operational efficiencies and Total Benefit of Ownership (TBO).
- Provide consistent measurement and reporting on health of supplier relationships.
- Leads and challenges IS project teams to arrive at more effective, efficient, and creative solutions. Leads highly complex and multi-faceted investigations to determine IS vendors value to broad and far-reaching projects.
- Negotiates and interprets the contractual terms, including pricing, service level agreements, performance metrics, and performance incentives and penalties, for highly complex vendor arrangements.
Communicate, champion and drive adoption and compliance to standards and processes
- Provides clear concise communication, training, mentoring, guidance, independent reviews, audits, and reports to drive adoption to standard processes.
- Drives compliance and provides independent oversight to IS activities and processes to focus on continuous improvement.
- Responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, communication, and reporting of standards, processes, and tools such as the RFx process, the Preferred Vendor Program Process, the Hardware ordering process, etc.
Management of associates
- Manages direct reports, systems and projects to achieve unit goals in accordance with Company policies and practices.
- Prepares and analyze unit plans and reports.
- Provides leadership by exhibiting influence and expertise, thus affecting the results of the operating area.
- Creates an effective work environment by developing a common vision, setting clear objectives, expecting teamwork, recognizing outstanding performance and maintaining open communications.
- Develops staff through coaching, providing performance feedback, providing effective performance assessments and establishing performance and development plans.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Candidate has 3-5 years of experience in IT or related field.
- Deep level of experience and knowledge of enterprise vendor management practices and principles.
- Deep process management skills.
- Outstanding negotiation skills. Excellent client management skills (communication, influencing, listening, adaptability, partnering skills).
- Deep business acumne skills.
Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in MIS, Computer Science (or related field).
- Candidate has 1-5 years managerial or supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated Initiative and self-motivation.
- Excellent analysis (business and financial) and critical thinking skills.
- Exceptional influencing and communication skills.
- Ability to handle pressure and mature conflict resolution skills.
- Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise, organization and industry.
