Job Responsibilities:
• Produce and review daily Risk and PL reports including decomp analytics and commentaries for Front Office, Finance and Risk Management.
• Monitor the effectiveness of the daily control procedures designed to detect an error or omission in daily trade reporting to ensure accuracy of reporting.
• Ensure daily control and reconciliation of systems to GL are performed and documented; to ensure exceptions are acted on in a timely basis.
• Produce/review/sign-off month-end attestation packages to meet Finance and governance reporting requirements.
• Review daily funding and funding to cash reconciliation for assigned books to ensure accurate funding of portfolios.
• Document, maintain and understand on an ongoing basis the various organizational controls (FPC, OPC, and LCM) in
order to adhere to regulatory requirements. ie. SOX walk through, Internal Control Repository updates
• Review and communicate to key stakeholders the results of the Independent price verification process to ensure accurate valuation of portfolios.
• Train on various reporting books to cover for vacation or illness.
• Review and verify that adequate supporting documentation exists to ensure month-end attestation package completeness.
• Work with employees to determine the best alternatives when problem solving where the complexity or operational risk
level is beyond their scope to ensure compliance and customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
• Undergraduate University degree in Economics, Finance, Commerce, Accounting and/or 5-7 years business related experience
• In Depth knowledge of Equity Derivatives and Money Market products - pricing and settlement practices of Equities, Swap, Options, Futures, and Foreign Exchange.
• Understanding of multiple trading and reporting systems
• In-depth knowledge of Financial Instruments Accounting Standards
• Ability to develop queries using SQL and write/decipher VBA code to troubleshoot.
• Exceptionally well developed analytical and problem-solving skills in order to investigate and resolve complex problems such as inefficiencies in the current business architecture.
• Awareness of current developments in the financial industry and other job-related industries, in order to analyze and interpret political/economic issues, which affect the market, competitor organizations, regulatory and statuary requirements, client business needs
• Strong initiative and ability to suggest and deliver comprehensive enhancements in work processes
• Well-developed organization and prioritization skills in order to handle multiple tasks (prioritizing daily work with various project work and demands of client base) within an extremely dynamic environment.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills to develop and maintain productive working relationships on very complex issues with the staff and management of Front Office, Risk Management, Technology, and Finance
• Strong supervisory skills to motivate, supervise, coach and counsel staff; deal with performance, morale and disciplinary problems
• Ability to deal successfully with internal/external audit and other external counterparties
