Senior Manager, Program Management with Fixed Income
Our client is quite literally on the front line of the biggest issues facing the global capital market industry today – investment banks, asset management firms, wealth managers, oil and energy firms, and government and regulatory agencies. Driving transformation and leading change within these industries requires big thinkers who bring insight, knowledge, technical acumen and passion for innovation. This position will report into a manager in Chicago but there is flexibility in terms of where they will be based out of. Preference is Chicago or New York City.
As Senior Manager, Program Management with Fixed Income experience you will play a key leadership role in the delivery of complex technology and business solutions for leaders from the financial services and commodities trading industry. You will use your in-depth skills in project management, client management and team leadership to manage multi-track and globally distributed projects delivering competitive advantage for their clients.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage integrated, multi-track projects and/or programs of multiple projects.
• Lead development and tracking of integrated project plans.
• Oversee project estimations.
• Oversee the development and tracking of integrated project plans.
• Oversee the development of project deliverables in order to meet project objectives.
• Establish processes to manage scope, risk and issues within and across multiple projects.
• Establish and maintain project communication and set project quality and performance standards.
• Lead team of 25+ people and provide career development, direction and motivation to team.
• Ensure key project-wide roles and responsibilities are defined.
• Drive knowledge sharing and learning from project experiences.
• Establish and manage relationships with key client executives and stakeholders.
• Stay on top of current industry trends and help shape opportunities for client solutions.
• Help drive business development activities.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of the program management domain.
• Participate in hiring activities as well as training and internal initiatives.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business or related field.
• Deep relevant work experience of multiple project lifecycles in project management and PMO/change management; successfully delivering solutions within investment banking environments from business development to final delivery.
• Deep understanding of SDLC, project risk, and ability to conduct business analysis support and coordinating UAT.
• Deep understanding in Fixed Income(FI) traded products; Exchange Traded and OTC derivatives, trade workflows and front-to-back office trading.
• Ability to engage with traders and portfolio managers and facilitate key discussions on risk, and FI trading strategies.
• Deep experience in consulting firm or client-facing role.
• Proven team leadership experience leading globally distributed teams of 25+ people including managerial experience.
• Prior accountability for respective budget or client revenue.
• Extensive client management experience with accountability for executive-level relationships.
• Deep experience of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience using object oriented design and development methodologies; Agile, Scrum or Waterfall preferred.
• Travel required; minimum of 75% travel to United Arab Emirates (UAE)
