Senior Manager, Reimbursement
Job Description: Purpose: Responsible for management and leadership in the development and implementation of health economics and reimbursement activities. Key Responsibilities: Management and leadership in the development and implementation of reimbursement and health economics activities for BSC working with divisional staff and key internal and external stakeholders in targeted areas such as Medicaid, Medicare, employer groups, patient advocacy groups, patient assistance programs and case management programs related to BSC platform products. sect;Lead development and execution of practical strategies to secure optimal reimbursement for BSC products and procedures, with a focus beyond commercial payers, such as Medicare, Medicaid, employer groups, case management and patient advocacy. Familiarity with patient advocacy development preferred. sect;Lead implementation of tactical planning activities required to achieve health economics and reimbursement strategic objectives (e.g., preparation of economic and reimbursement dossiers for payer negotiations, new code applications, customer billing guides). sect;Identify key health economics needs for BSC platform products, working with health economics and outcomes research colleagues to drive customer-oriented solutions. Liaise with BSC colleagues in government affairs to advance specific government policy strategies that have material impact on BSC products. sect;Assess reimbursement opportunities and challenges facing the divisionrsquo;s emerging technologies and commercially marketed products and communicate business impact to senior management. sect;Work with new product development teams to ensure health economics and reimbursement needs are incorporated into product development plans and timelines; ensure all necessary new product development deliverables are completed on time and on budget. sect;Manage consultants providing expertise and support for Medicaid, private payer, employer group, case management and patient assistance program strategy development. Manage provision of reimbursement support to sales force and key external stakeholders (e.g., hospitals, clinicians, investigator sites, professional societies) as appropriate. sect;Manage provision of appropriate in-service training to sales, marketing, clinical, regulatory, and legal to increase awareness and understanding of health economics and reimbursement competencies and their role in supporting a productrsquo;s success. sect;Monitor policy developments that impact the reimbursement of BSC products. sect;Build relationships in key markets with government, physician, hospital, and third-party payer decision makers. sect;Support development of staff. Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement that supports BSC's Quality Policy, Quality System and the appropriate regulations for the area they support. Ensure all employees are trained to do their work and their training is documented. Job Experience: Qualifications: The successful candidate will have excellent technical skills in the areas of health economics and reimbursement with demonstrated experience in complex project management and in the development of coverage for new technologies. The position requires the candidate to be current in the field and able to work in a wide array of settings. § Minimum 8+ years of solid work experience with management experience leading functional and cross-functional teams. § Masters degree or higher (e.g., MS, MPH, MBA, PhD, DrPH, JD) or equivalent preferred. Formal training in health economics, public health, health services research, policy analysis, epidemiology, biostatistics, health care administration or related discipline preferred. § Experience in reimbursement, health economics and/or outcomes research, preferably with experience working with new medical technologies in the medical device or pharmaceutical arena. § Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. and global healthcare systems including expertise in health care financing, reimbursement policies related to the device industry, and technology assessment. § Ability to manage multiple workstreams being supported by external consultants and deliver projects / results on time and on budget. Ability to interpret and integrate business strategies into actionable, value-added reimbursement and outcomes planning initiatives. § Outstanding communications and interpersonal skills including developing relationships at all levels in an organization and directly influencing business objectives. § Demonstrated ability to make effective decisions independently and to work in a fast-paced matrix environment with minimal supervision.
