Senior Manager – Remedial & Recoveries recruitment

THE BANK

Our client is a highly regarded emerging markets bank with a population of c4,000 employees worldwide who are based in a network of branches covering eight countries spread over the UK, Europe, UAE and Asia. The bank provides a comprehensive range of commercial and private banking services to its redominantly South Asian corporate and individual customers utilising corporate, consumer, trade finance, retail and correspondent banking products. The bank places a high emphasis on providing an exceptional personal service to its customers.

THE POSITION

The successful candidate will be based in the bank’s City of London office and responsibilities will include:

• To manage a portfolio of non-performing credit facilities.

• To recommend strategy whether to continue extending facilities or any other available      recovery actions in order to minimize the loss to the bank.

• To negotiate on repayment/restructuring plan and documentation.

• To work closely with legal and other professionals to enforce security or undertake            legal actions for recovery.

• To maximise recoveries from classified accounts and deliver on agreed targets.

• To monitor, rehabilitate and restructure accounts which are overdue and under                  financial stress.

• Implementation of Business Plans including in depth due diligence to develop best         options available to maximise loan recovery and implement as appropriate.

• Monitor on an on-going basis 'performance' vs. parameters required/agreed in relation    to facilities provided post agreement of re-structuring plan.

• To prepare, review and comment on financial models / restructuring reports and                analyse and interpret financial information and prepare reports.

• Provide leadership support to team members.

• To understand the impact of insolvency when assessing options.

• To carry out insolvency cases and ensuring that all procedures are adhered to,                  realisation of assets and the completion of all statutory paperwork.

• Prepare and present credit papers for re-structuring proposals to Credit Committee.

• Production of M.I. for senior management.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ideal candidates will be experienced in Recoveries and have the ability to work in a cross-cultural community banking environment and possess the following qualifications and skills:

        • Able to define "win-win" situations for client and firm and understands potential trade-             offs between fee/profit maximisation and long term business with client.

• Strong and demonstrable negotiation skills.

• Knowledge of insolvency law and its implementation. In addition, practical experience     of work-out situations while not an absolute prerequisite would be a significant                 advantage.

• Must be able to understand and interpret accounts and other financial information.           Able to understand, review and critique cash flow, profit and loss and balance sheet          forecast.

• Strong experience in corporate insolvency.

• Demonstrate excellent research skills including IT skills and thinks in a logical and          structured manner whilst bringing commerciality into analysis and findings in terms of    proportionate work and interpretation of findings.

• Experience of property receivership is preferred, but not essential.

• Team player who thinks logically.

• Strong ability to work in a time constrained situation and deliver on agreed targets.

• Experience with multi-cultural clients and environment.

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Ability to organise, prioritise, multi-task.

• Knowledge of UK SMEs, Business models, market trends industry trends.
