Senior Manager, Strategic Communications for the Specialty Care Business Unit (SCBU), reports to the Director, Strategic Communications within the SCBU Communications Team of the Policy, External Affairs Communications (PEAC) function at Pfizer. The position is responsible for creating, implementing and measuring strategic communications plans supporting the SCBU Medicines Development Group (MDG) and other key SCBU leadership initiatives. Responsibilities of the senior manager, strategic communications are to: "(80%) Create, deliver and measure an annual strategic communications plan (inclusive of external and internal communications) supporting SCBU MDG, including: oStrategic communications objectives, tactics, messages, measures and budget/resources required. oLeader-led communications programs, including town halls oExternal visibility on speaking and interview opportunities and engagements through partnership with media relations and investor relations. "Raise internal and external visibility of SCBU pipeline compounds to enhance Pfizer's standing as an innovative biopharmaceutical leader. "Develop and leverage a cadre of medical expert spokespersons with internal and external audiences to raise the profile of the SCBU pipeline. "Participate as a member of extended leadership team for MDG. "Partner, coordinate and align MDG communications with Commercial Development communications, as appropriate. "(20%) Support SCBU culture and colleague engagement initiatives and facilitate leader-led communications. "Manage SCBU-specific communications strategic plans that are grounded in research, support BU strategy, include measurable objectives, and are evaluated for return on investment. "Ensure consistent messaging throughout all BU communications vehicles, programs and events; manage pull-through of BU strategic communications programs across regions. "Serve as a member of the Pfizer Biologics-Biosimilars Core Team as the SCBU communications representative. "Manage and partner with outside agency account teams, as appropriate. "Develop appropriate metrics to evaluate effectiveness of communications plans, messages and vehicles. "Liaise with PfizerWorld and PEAC team to ensure alignment on all corporate-wide initiatives and issues and to ensure SCBU visibility within Pfizer. "Support the roll-out of global communications initiatives within SCBU. "Support other strategic communications projects that support SCBU objectives, including SCBU projects and special events. "Maintain strong working relationships with other BU MDG/CDMA communication leads to achieve consistent approaches "Partner effectively on WRD initiatives to ensure effective and relevant communications with SCBU MDG and CD audiences. "Develop and maintain knowledge of communications best practices and adopt for use when appropriate. "The position is based at SCBU global headquarters in Collegeville, PA. Educational Requirements "Bachelors degree required, preferably in communications, English or related field. Masters degree desired. Accredited in Public Relations (APR) designation desirable.
