We also have extensive charitable granting expertise and are a recognised expert in the philanthropic market.

An opportunity currently exists for a Senior Manager Tax and Accounting to lead the ANZ Trustees (ANZT) Taxation and Accounting team in the provision of a professional efficient and accurate accounting and taxation service of the ANZT business whilst ensuring compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory obligations.

Within the scope of responsibilities of this role will include (but not limited to);

· Manage all accounting and tax processes for:
-Preparation and lodgement of tax returns and statements
-Preparation and lodgement of Franking credit refunds
-Clearing and reconciling monthly control accounts as required
-Preparation of monthly trial balances
-Preparation of accounts and statements as scheduled
-Review Capital Gains Tax reconstructions
-Review daily common fund unit pricing and justify variances
-Review financial statements and notes for funds to meet ASIC reporting requirements
-Approve common fund distributions as scheduled
-Coordinate interactions with internal and external auditors
-Review processes and procedures to actively contribute to a culture of continuous improvement

· Provide specialist advice to ANZT business and clients
· Provide specialist support and accounting information to Client Managers and Account Controllers
· Establish and maintain internal and external relationships.
· Maintain relationship with ATO and Tax Practitioners Board
· Provide tax and accounting support to ANZ Group Taxation
· Collaborate with ANZT teams to support service standards through the provision of accurate results upon request
· Ensure relevant qualifications and accreditations are maintained by the team
· Continually review systems and processes to identify potential risk to prevent errors
· Address and escalate compliance incidents and near misses as identified
· Ensure all accounting and taxation practices comply with ANZT procedures and regulatory requirements
· Review and implement disciplines and procedures to avoid litigation and exposure to risk
· Monitor team output to ensure ANZT quality standards are met
· Support the Taxation and Accounting team to comply with current ANZT business strategies
· Coach and develop the Accounting and Accounting team to rectify errors and implement preventative measures
· Establish benchmarks and manage Taxation and Accounting team performance

The successful candidate for this role will ideally match the following key selection criteria;

· Tertiary qualifications
· CA / CPA qualified
· Previous exposure in a similar role
· Strong understanding of Australian taxation law
· Proven ability to deliver financial documents within required deadlines
