Senior Manager/Director – Finance – Cost Management & Reduction

As a senior member of the Finance Consulting team you will make a strong and broad-based contribution to the success of our business. You will work with clients to identify and deploy innovative and value-creating solutions to their issues. You will contribute to market debate on relevant 'hot-topics' through research and publication of Deloitte 'points of view'. In addition you will provide a significant contribution to the management and direction of the practice for example: contributing to strategic planning and performance management for the team; supporting and developing our people and contributing to our wider Community activities.
You will have several years experience in either (or both) industry and professional services. You will have a demonstrable track record of success and progression based on deep technical knowledge and wider knowledge of the Insurance industry. You will have a good understanding of the broader commercial and regulatory changes impacting Insurance both from a domestic and International standpoint.
You will have deep practical experience in Finance and understand the connection with the Actuarial and Risk functions. In particular, you will have gained in-depth experience of Management Accounting and the disciplines and techniques around cost management and cost reduction.
You will have led or taken key roles, either internally or as an external consultant, in driving good cost management disciplines throughout an insurance company and / or achieving significant and sustainable cost reduction targets either within or beyond the Finance function.
Specific experience in delivering either short term tactical (12 months) or strategic cost reduction (multi-year, large percentage) programmes is highly desired, as is deep expertise in cost and expense allocation and activity based costing.
A strong communicator, team player and agent of change, you will have the ability to further develop your relationships and convey the need for change in an inspiring way.
