, Fortune 500 with engineering opportunities in Tennessee Virginia. Our customer, a Tier 1 supplier is seeking 2 Senior Manufacturing Engineers who will responsible for leading managing engineering in a high volume machining environment..

Responsibilities:

·          Assists in the purchases of capital equipment for tooling and gauging.

·          Review blueprints to ensure parts are manufacturable and of high quality.

·          Submit cost justifications for relevant issues and items.

·          Forecast long term planning for manufacturing.

·          Perform operator training for new processes and equipment.

·          Provide layout for equipment and modifies layout as necessary.

·          Receive suppliers quotes and leads in the selection of acceptable bids.

·          Oversees projects from requisition stage throughout completion (machine acceptance-PPAP)

·          Determine capital needs for future projects with current capacity.

·          Perform tooling selection, machine upgrades, retrofits, and feeds/speeds activities.

·          Perform capability studies on new fixtures.

·          Specify tool design.

·          Generate process flow, PFMEA’s, routings, tool estimates and capital estimates for new product estimates.

·          Implement cost reduction ideas.


Current Requirements

·          B. S. Degree in Engineering or related Technical field is preferred.

·          Experienced with production fixturing/tooling/gauging.

·          Strong background with programming of CNC turning, milling and grinding equipment

·          Previous experience with close tolerance production grinding would be preferred.

·          Must be familiar with lean mfg. principals, six-sigma, APQP process and PFMEA’s.
