JOB SUMMARY -
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will plan, design, set up, modify and optimize, troubleshoot, and monitor complex technology based manufacturing processes in our industrial facility.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -
1. Advance the effectiveness of dielectric film capacitor winding technology in our production environment
2. Operate technologically advanced film winding equipment and train, mentor, and support production operators
3. Diagnose and resolve computer controlled equipment problems and process issues
4. Create or modify PLC or other computer-based machine control programs
5. Support Production in reducing / eliminating equipment and tooling downtime or scrap, utilizing good analytical methodologies
6. Create and maintain Process Flow, PFMEA, and Operation and Maintenance documentation
7. Meet or exceed labor content and product cost standards utilizing good assembly methodologies and ergonomics
8. Support and maintain error-proofing methodologies
9. Support facility and production cell enhancements
10. Support and develop department or maintenance projects / activities with good engineering direction. Take part or facilitate the team Lean strategies and methodologies and / or Six Sigma activities
11. Facilitate continuous improvement for all processes
12. Support, cost estimate and document all engineering changes
13. Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformance relating to product, or processes and systems
14. Document all activities as required
15. Any additional responsibility deemed necessary by management
QUALIFICATIONS -
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical, electrical, or software engineering
• Minimum of 5-7 years related experience in manufacturing or assembly processes
• Extensive experience with computer or PLC based machine control systems, PLC programming, or other machine control software is required
• Experience designing, operating, troubleshooting, or maintaining complex production machinery is required
• Experience with handling or winding of dielectric films in a production environment is desirable
• Working knowledge of manufacturing/mechanical processes and equipment is desirable
• CAD experience (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) is desirable
• Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma theory and practices is desirable
• Experience in an ISO-9001 or TS-16949 environment would be desirable
• Strong skills utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with the ability to learn new systems and tools quickly
• Good mechanical / technical skills
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced environment
• Possess excellent leadership teamwork abilities, and organizational skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills
