Senior Marketing Compliance Officer recruitment
The candidate will be a liaison between compliance and business lines (Retail Banking, Commercial Banking, Wealth Management, and National Finance). Oversee and manage the compliance activities as it relates to advertising material in print, television and online. This role will report directly to the Chief Marketing Officer but will also have dotted line reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer.
Responsibilities
• Responsible for coordinating a process between compliance and business units to efficiently review and approve marketing material.
• Ensure that all compliance requirements are proactively communicated and inform business partners of best practices in process controls.
• Provides subject matter expertise on compliance policies and procedures across business lines. Keeps abreast of developments and changes to laws, regulations, guidance and self-regulatory organization rules impacting advertising and marketing.
• Advises, and implements compliance policies and procedures. Validates control processes and policies to ensure regulatory compliance. Reviews and approves forms and related operational procedure to ensure compliance.
• Oversee the review of all marketing material to ensure it meets company and regulatory standards.
• Escalate issues, as appropriate, and provide periodic updates, trends and recommendations.
• Effectively update and communicate processes, procedures and disclosure changes as appropriate.
• Partners with Quality Control in planning compliance reviews and monitor any corrective actions taken.
• Identifies specific training needs for different business unit groups and develops and conducts compliance training.
• Participates in the Bank's Compliance Committee to provide reports and information on current/emerging compliance issues to top management.
• Participates in projects which may result in in-depth studies and analysis, including the preparation of Board level presentations.
• Provides current and emerging compliance issues for inclusion various internal communications.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field required
• Master’s/Advanced Degree (such as a JD) preferred
• Strong knowledge of compliance regulations as it relates to Marketing, Advertising and Products.
• Minimum 10 years of increasing responsibility in successfully developing and implementing compliance programs and processes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact well at all levels.
• Financial services industry experience preferred; retail considered a strong plus.
• Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to work in a multi-tasking environment. Ability to build and maintain business relationships.
• Ability to work effectively with teams as well as independently.
